Preview for week 4

And so we begin the bye week game. This is where your bench will make or break your team over the next few weeks. I thought I had done well with my scquad until some of them fell flat on their face. V-Jax has been a major disappointment for me and my team. He was supposed to be a top 20 WR but he is languishing down in the 40s right now. I would like to move him but I am not getting any traction from my trade partners right now. I had one trade on the table earlier in the year and because I didn't do anything with it I am now in trouble. Good thing I've been able to use the waiver wire to help keep my team afloat. On the bright side there is a decent chance that I will be able to beat my opponent this week because he won't be able to find another RB to put on his team. That may save my hide this eek, but I can't chance that every week. I still fear my week 9 matchup coming up, and that's when my best QB WR And TE all are on bye and I have to hope that I can survive that brutal matchup. Down below is my lineup for the week. Unless someone get traded, then that is how it will look, other than maybe moving Bell in place of Colston for my Flex spot.

I will say that I am liking the fact that Jennings is paying off for me, drafted as my RB3/4 and has turned into a solid RB1 for that price and mitigates the fact that AP will most likely not play the rest of the year. So if I take him and combine him with Bernard, then my team might stand a chance in making the top 6 and getting through the playoffs. That in combination with my next awesome strike, Cutler is already ranked 4th in fantasy points this year, and while he probably regress a little bit, a top 10 finish for him is not out of the question and he should also be able to help pull my team through the mess that is the fantasy season. So as long as i can juggle a few WR's through the year and just hope that my Flex spot doesnt also turn into a mess, then everything will be awesome. Congrats and good luck with your season!

Reaction from Week 3

So things went as well as I could have hoped. I only scored 82 points but at least I scored more than my opponent. And that's all I can ask for, lol. I had the best lineup i could have put out except for 2 players. One was that Marshall didnt give me any points (which i couldnt have known but i wasnt going to let week 2 scare me off of using him) and I left Floyd on the bench and his 11 points and then Jennings and his 23 points were left on the bench (which I could have left him in the starting lineup instead of Ridley who i picked up earlier in the week), so ultimately I left 29 points on the bench, which could have given me 111 points and made me look better. I did win anyway and that's what matters. Best part of this is that Bennett came through and saved my ass with his 17 points, so I'm really loving picking him up from the waiver wire earlier in the year.

Adrian Peterson is still being a thorn in my side. On the bright side he hasnt hurt my team nearly as much as I feared he would, but then again he is just taking up another roster spot on my bench. So I still need to wager weather he will be back this year or not. I will wait 2 more week to hear because there is not enough help out there on the waiver wire to do any good for my team. I'm still not feeling good about Jackson on my team still and i'm trying to find ways to package him and ship him off for other help.

I am really enjoying this family league thing, I'm not going to win it all but it is fun to match wits with everyone and see who is really paying attention and whatnot. Maybe i can package him and Ridley for Lacy or someone else. Or maybe I can do something else during the next few days, I'll have to text a few people.

One thing that has really been helping me quite a bit with my team (although i am only 1-2, it has prevented my team from absolutely bombing) is that I have been listening to the Fantasy Focus podcast that is hosted my Matthew Berry on ESPN. I really enjoy his insight as I've read his articles for years on the ESPN website but I have only been listening to his podcast for the last month or so.

Included below is the box score of my team from last week, i'll try and include something about my bench next time, but only if it seems relevant to the final score of the matchup.

Preview for Week 3

Well here is my team on the eve of week 3. Because of a huge mistake last week and a little bad luck, I am now 0-2 on the year. My opponent this upcoming week is the Ohio St. Vincents (1-1) and I'm feeling pretty good about facing him this week. I will say that it is hard to play him this week because he has both RB-Ball and WR-D. Thomas, both Broncos players, and as a Broncos fan, I hope they win, but have those players play poorly, lol. Here is what my team looks like for right now.,,but things may change in the next day or two depending on if a certain waiver wire claim goes through. After the show that Cutler and Marshall put up against the 49'ers last week, I am going to keep them in my starting lineup each and every week for the rest of the year, except for the week they are out, which will be interesting to see who my other WR will be that week. But I will worry about that later when I come to my week 9 preview.
I feel vindicated that I took G. Bernard at the beginning of Round 3 right now, so he should set me up for a good week ahead. I should also do good with Ridley in my lineup, since he is play Oak and NE should take care of them and run the ball alot near the end of the game. I also think that Bell will do a good job against a weak GB Defense, at least better than Jennings will do against a very tough Texans Defense, therefore Bell will be my FLEX unless I hear something bad about the Texans defnese. I could have one other RB join my team this week, and that is Miller from Miami, who I am hoping to drop for Locker.
I guess the one true WR I have on my team is Marshall and then hope for a good performance from anyone else I throw in there. Jackson is weaker so far than most thought. Colston disappeared last week and noone knows if he will show up this week. And Floyd.....his value is tied up with Palmer being his QB....otherwise I need to look elsewhere for WR help. and if AP really is out for the year, then I can take a weekly flyer on some hot hand for the week, or a specific player like Wheaton or Sanu, or maybe taking a flyer on Boldin and hope that his legs have another good season left in him, but I dont know.
Bennett will be my starting TE till week 9 when I have to juggle my team and try to get a temp replacement for him. But he should have good value for the rest of the year, especially if anyone gets hurt, his receptions should increase.
Bengals will be my D/ST from here on out as well until the Bye week in week 4...which I should be able to juggle AP for a replacement for them.

So yeah, this team could change if anything happens to AP. He is effectively suspended until his leagal stuff gets resolved, but that's Oct 7 for the next trial date, but odds are that he wont play the rest of the year.
